People either love the Eragon audio books series or they hate them, is the consensus of all the reviews available on the internet; nearly everyone who has read these books are impressed that a man of such a young age was able to complete a series of books. The Eragon audio book series was begun by author Christopher Paolini, when he was only 15 years old, and the first book was completed tree years later, and was published soon after.

For Those Who Haven't Read It

The Eragon audio books are about a boy who lives on a farm, finds a stone which he plans to sell for money to help his family through the winter, which he later finds out to be a dragon egg. As the story progresses he discovers a complete and hidden world to which he is a part. There are three books, in which the story unfolds; a movie was made based on the first of these books.

People Who Love It

Many people who love the Eragon audio books are impressed first and foremost by the fact that he is so young and has written an entire trilogy of books. Some have also considered him an inspirational author, as he was home schooled, went into public school to graduate at the age of fifteen, and transformed from a person who hated to read to an author in a very short period of time. Many people find the Eragon audio books engaging and entertaining; these books are also highly recommended reading to the younger age groups.

People Who Hate It

Critics of Christopher Paolini's, Eragon audio books are disappointed at the gross lack of originality in the work; many go further to say the only reason the work is acceptable to such a large audience is strictly because of his age. Many detractors also note that much of the Eragon audio book's plot of characters, are borrowed from other authors and popular culture. To this end even many fans of the Eragon audio book series agree, almost everyone who has read this work has been somewhat put off by the fact that there is very little unique material in the series.

Despite critics or fans complaints the Eragon audio books made the New York Best Seller's List for multiple weeks in a row; that would indicate that enough people were intrigued about the book to purchase it. While according to the online reviews it was a regrettable purchase, it was purchased by many others that were happy with their decision to buy the Eragon audio books.
