Playstation 3 The Exciting World Of Video Games

In November 2006, a new game console was launched in United States. The name of this new game console was PlayStation 3 and Sony launched it. PlayStation 3 was launched as an answer to Xbox 360, which had a year head start over PS3. Even though PS3 was launched a year behind Xbox 360, PS3 games have caught the imagination of video gamers all across the world.

The Launch

PlayStation 3 was launched with twelve titles. Sony promised three more titles by the end of the year. Soon after PS3 was launched, Resistance: Fall of Man became an instant hit. The game got great reviews on many prestigious game websites, like GameSpot and IGN. It was even awarded the PlayStation 3 Game of the Year award by GameSpot and IGN.

In 2007, PlayStation 3 came up with the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, F.E.A.R, and Sonic the Hedgehog. At the E3 Media and Business Summit in 2007, Sony gave a peak at its forthcoming games. Heavenly Sword and Lair and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune are two of the games that gamers got a peak at. Confrontation and Warhawk would be released on Blu-ray discs, while, Unreal Tournaments 3 would be released exclusively to PlayStation 3 in 2007.

Games to Lookout for In 2008

For 2008, Sony has some very interesting games on line. Killzone 2 and a sequel to the 2004 first person shooter are set for 2008 release. The anticipation for first person shooter is high and I am sure PlayStation 3 will meet the demands of video gamers. Another much anticipated game is the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which would also be released exclusively to PS3.

Some critics point out that games offered by PlayStation 3 are nothing when compared to Xbox 360. But one must always keep in mind that PS3 has just been released. Once game developers get the in and out of PS3, I am sure they will come up with games that will blow the competition away.

Future gaming involves breathtaking 3D graphics and PlayStation 3 gives game developers, the opportunity to create games that are realistic and truly interactive. In other words, game developers would be able to create games with realistic graphics and unpredictable scenarios. In fact the games will be so realistic that you will never have the same interactive outing twice.

For the time being, the best part about PlayStation 3 is that it has a region free feature for PS3 games. In other words, you can buy your games from any region and play it on your PS3. This is something that is missing in Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.

PlayStation 3 has really set a benchmark for other game consoles to follow. Offering some of the best features in game consoles, video gamers can look forward new and exciting games on PS3.
